Health & Fitness Guru Jillian Michaels Not a Fan of Keto
In the world of health and fitness, few have achieved as much as personal trainer, businesswoman, author and television personality Jillian Michaels. The California native recently spoke with Women’s Health about some of today’s biggest health tips and trends… including revenge bodies, zoodles, and yes, the Keto Diet.
“I don’t understand. Like, why would anybody think this is a good idea?” Michaels stated, calling the keto diet a “bad plan, for a million reasons.”
Her reasonings are scientific, based on the macromolecules in your cells.
“Your cells, your macromolecules, are literally made up of protein, fat, carbohydrates, nucleic acids.”
When even one of these macronutrients are avoided, you’re literally ‘starving yourself’, which can have negative affects over a long period of time. Michaels recommends using exercise, limiting your processed sugars and grains, and keeping an eye on your calories. Bottom line: a balanced diet is all you need.
